Our Story: A Safe Harbor in the Heart of the Community
In the neighborhoods we serve, like Collier City in Pompano Beach, the shadows of crime and violence are a daily reality for our youth. The sounds of sirens can often drown out the sounds of laughter. The allure of negative influences and the threat of violence on the streets create a landscape where childhood can be cut short, and potential is too often lost. For many young people, the path of least resistance is a dangerous one, leading away from their dreams and into a cycle of negative outcomes.
But within this challenging environment, a beacon of hope was lit.
Change of Heart Youth Program of America, Inc. (COHYPOA) was established in 2018 with a profound understanding of these dangers and a fierce determination to make a difference. We recognized that to combat the pressures of the streets, we had to provide a compelling and positive alternative—a safe harbor where young minds are nurtured, not neglected.
We are more than just a program; we are a commitment. A commitment to preventing the negative behaviors that flourish in the void of opportunity. A commitment to empowering our youth with the tools they need to build a brighter future for themselves. We believe that transformation happens through engagement, education, and unwavering support.
Our mission is our method. We provide a safe and engaging environment where children can succeed socially, educationally, and economically. Through dynamic programs in fitness, education, tech camps, and creative arts—including music camps that foster a lifelong love of the arts—we offer pathways to positive self-expression, healthy living, and academic achievement.
